Semi Driver

 Full Time Position: (First Shift M-F Weekends and Overtime as Needed)

Bachman’s delivery department has an opening for an experienced Semi Driver who has a strong safety record, organizational skills, and is knowledgeable in regards to customer service and efficiency.

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Provide deliveries to stores and customers.
  • Load and unload vehicles and properly dispose of all returned merchandise.
  • Route trips in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure proper and safe repair of vehicles by informing maintenance and/or supervisor of repair needs.
  • Keep accurate daily logs and other forms.
  • Ensure cleanliness of vehicles.
  • Perform other duties and assist in other areas as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma.
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL with DOT health card.
  • Must be insurable with Bachman's Insurance carrier and eligible under Bachman's Safe Driver Standards.
  • Must have knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Must have at least two years’ experience driving semi and working knowledge of spider trucks.
  • Ability to work without supervision and give work directions to helpers.
  • Must have working knowledge of hand-held communication devices and computers.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Able to move/lift/push/pull 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Able to crank trailer mechanism.
  • Able to climb into trucks and trailers, and climb ladder to remove snow and ice.
