Planter Designer- Part Time

DUTIES:

• Produce European baskets, seasonal baskets, and specialty planter for stock and customer orders.
• Fill customer orders for indoor plants and other perishable items.
• Maintain organization in the department. Unpack product, condense and organize product on carts, water plants.
• Housekeeping and Paperwork – clean work area, complete necessary paperwork for transfers, document markdowns, identify and document items needing to be ordered.
• Assist with inventory twice a year.
• Help with special projects several times a year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have good background in Horticulture and/or design.  
• 1-2 years’ experience in Design is preferred, or 2 years of formal horticulture education.
• Requires an understanding of plant pricing, margin, markups, markdowns, recipes for planting, and merchandising principles.
• Basic plant knowledge in relation to watering and care of green and blooming plants.
• Ability to read, write and understand work direction in English.
• Ability to accurately maintain daily production records and document product transfers and spoilage.
• Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively, with other team members.

SCHEDULE:

• 6am -2:30pm, Monday- Friday and every other Saturday.
• In peak seasonal times there will be overtime and/or additional days.

COMPENSATION: $16.50-$19.00/hour
